As per reports, her mother Mary Jones was an accountant while her dad David Jones belonged to the teaching profession. Jarnette did her schooling at a nearby local school. Jarnette was married to actor and stuntman David Olsen on August 6th, 1977. The occasion was an intimate affair and was attended only by close friends and family. Being a private person, she never talked openly about her wedding story. But many claimed that she was already married before starting her journey with David. They were together for 18 years before going separate ways in 1996. David married his secretary McKenzie Olsen in the same year.

Jarnette’s husband David wasn’t sure about the acting careers of his daughters and “almost pulled them off the show” after the 1st Full House season. He thought “it would be too disruptive to them and to the rest of the family”. But considering Ashley and Mary Kate “were having fun”, he decided to go with the flow. David and Jarnette both co-managed them. But things got complicated when their relationship turned sour.

There was a custody fight that almost left the young twins divided and in a “mess”. “Mary-Kate was always a daddy’s girl”. She attended her father’s second marriage while Ashley, being “a mama’s girl” preferred skipping it. Upon becoming adults, the twins refuted these claims and said they “were kind of busy at that point.”Ashley also revealed that they “were very mature for our age” and understood that “things will be better this way.”

Staying Private Is A Olsen Family Trait

Jarnette Olsen has always been a private person. After her estrangement from David, she further distanced herself from the limelight. While he became the manager of their daughters, Jarnette went out of the picture altogether. As per a The New York Times report, she “does not speak to the press or participate in Mary-Kate and Ashley’s lives as public figures.”

The celebrity mom also doesn’t have a social media account. But what’s interesting is her daughters also followed in her footsteps. They “don’t dive into that world” either and prefer not letting “people have that accessibility”.
